  • About Kyle

    Having worked as a Kinesiologist, Physical Therapist, Firefighter, and Psychologist (for ten years), I consider my approach to be that of a personal trainer for stress management and to optimize areas of Mind, Body, and Spiritual wellbeing. As you learn to balance and activate these systems, your external life will adapt to match your new internal state. 


    Keep in mind that where your attention goes, energy flows. And, from a neurophysiological perspective, nerves that fire together will wire together. My goal is to teach you fundamental techniques that will be tools in your wellness toolbox and utilized in your everyday life. You will in a way become your own therapist to better understand your unique self. 


    Currently, I see clients in person at Purely Wellness in Duncan and over phone/video. Regular workshops are offered at Purely Wellness and are also available at a location of your choice. In addition, I offer local and remote support for staff through stress-management courses, Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), and staff support (e.g., Remote camps, First-Responders, RCMP/VAC, Schools, staff development). 


    I often work with people who already have a therapist, to offer unique ways and specific skills to complement their work with another counsellor or healthcare provider (e.g., mindfulness-meditation, stress management).   • Workshop: The PCM Technique

    This workshop is available for teens through to seniors and can assist you in connecting to the Universe in your own way to manifest what you deeply desire in life. This technique also assists people in establishing a daily meditation practice that can bring balance in areas of mind, body, and spiritual wellbeing. Whether a Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Atheist, or other, if you come with an open mind and open heart you will leave with some new insights and meditation skills.


    Learn the 3-part “PCM Technique” to harness the power of prayer, to focus the mind in contemplation, and finally rest in the meditation “sweet spot.” This technique teaches you how to connect with your Guides, Angles, Higher Self, Christ Consciousness, Buddha Consciousness, or anything else you resonate with. Once connected, you will utilize the power of contemplation to request guidance and support. And in the final stage of meditation, we focus between the thoughts and let the magic unfold!

    This 2-hour introductory workshop on Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is open to teens through to seniors, offering powerful tools to break free from negative thought patterns, reduce stress and anxiety, and begin to build emotional resilience. Discover this evidence-based approach that blends mindfulness practices with cognitive therapy, proven effective in preventing depressive relapse and enhancing wellbeing.


    In this practical workshop, I'll introduce core MBCT principles including: First, cultivating present-moment awareness to spot autopilot reactions and attached emotions early. Second, "decentering"—learning to observe thoughts, feelings, sensations, and impulses as passing mental events, rather than personal truths. And finally, practicing acceptance and letting go through guided exercises like mindful breathing and body scans, to help you shift from a mental state of "doing" to a state of "being," while tuning into how emotions show up in the body.

Over two hours I will explain the Psychological Intervention called Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as tapping.     I currently work with clients individually and in groups over video, phone, and in-person at Purely Wellness in downtown Duncan. I bring a spiritual awareness to my counselling, without any religious underpinning, that can assist in deepening your understanding of the Universe and your place within it. I also offer several group courses and workshops which allow people to rewire themselves through meditation and mindfulness techniques. I suggest for my clients to try one of my group courses as they are cost-effective and are usually covered by extended health plans. These group courses are not “talk therapy” and are instead “skills building” to empower you with powerful and practical skills to harness the power of the mind. Theses groups are open for teens through to elders and can be taught at workplace settings and schools.


    Over the years I have worked with individuals, couples, families, groups, and have provided specialized services for employers in areas of mindfulness/meditation, stress-reduction, assistance for first responders, and areas of critical incident stress management (CISM) for workplace incidents.     If you are a new client, your initial visit will begin with signing an informed consent (please come 15 minutes early to save time), and a conversation around what you are seeking assistance with. My goal on the first session is to send you home with some new tools in your self-empowerment toolbox and a game plan moving forward. We will create a methodology together to immediately create changes in your life.


    I do work with Veteran Affairs Canada (VAC) to provide services for active and retired RCMP, CAF, and veterans.
